Northwest Flower & Garden Show Tweetup!

Northwest Flower & Garden Show Tweetup!

Join us for a Tweetup at the 2011 Northwest Flower & Garden Show, a special event for gardening and foodie enthusiasts active in the Twitterverse and blogosphere.

The @nwfgs hosted Tweetup will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 7:30 am – 8:00 pm. It begins with registration, a coffee reception and a meet-up from 7:00 am to 7:50 am. After some great door prize giveaways we’ll head off to the garden floor, where Tweeters & Bloggers can enjoy exclusive access to the incredible 22 show gardens for an hour before the doors open to the public.

Many of our Garden Creators will be on hand for questions and interviews, and with no crowds, getting good photo angles should be a snap. The show gardens are lit with theatrical lighting for added drama, but we know that can make photographing the gardens difficult. For optimal garden photos for our Tweetup guests, the Show will leave the house lights up until 8:45 am so the gardens are fully lit.

At 9:00 am the garden floor opens to the public, along with the rest of the show. Tweetup guests can enjoy the rest of the day at the show, seeing seminars by many of their Twitter friends, and browsing our 300+ garden-related exhibitors.

Need a place to rendezvous with your friends and write a blog? Your Tweetup name badge will give you access to the show’s Press Room for the remainder of Friday’s show, until 8:00 pm, along with free WiFi.

@jessibloom designed this multi-award-winning garden for the 2010 show. She'll be speaking on edible garden design strategies and keeping chickens at the 2011 show.

The seminar schedule on our Tweetup day is packed with Twitteratti, including @sweetrebecca, @ susanlmorrison, @nestinstyle, @seasonalwisdom, @thegerminatrix, @jessibloom, @heavy_petal, @digginfood @dkprinzing, @gardenchirps, @alexandrahedin, @dmizejewski, and @marykatemackey. For the complete seminar schedule visit our website at

All Tweetup participants must have a ticket to the show in order to participate. Plan to purchase your ticket in advance, as they will be taken at the door when you enter the show gardens at 8:00 am. (You can buy a ticket to the show on the morning of the Tweetup, but not until after 8:00 am, and there are usually long lines.) Early Bird tickets save you $4, and you can print them conveniently at home. To purchase tickets go to our website ticket page:

There’s a lot to see at the show, and many people go for two or more days. If you want to spend the night in a fine Seattle hotel near the Convention Center, we can hook you up with great hotel discounts. Check our Hotels webpage for prices and reservations:
