18 Jan Great Travel Deals for Canadian Gardeners
Beautiful British Columbia has a near perfect climate for gorgeous gardens, and gardening aficionados and plant collectors love to be inspired by the beautiful gardens of the Northwest Flower & Garden Show.
The Northwest Flower & Garden Show is the only major world-class garden show — with six acres of show gardens and exhibitors, and over 100 seminars — that is available in the Northwest. And it’s only 140 miles from Vancouver, B.C.
It’s now time to plan your garden travel to the next show, February 20 – 24, 2013, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. We have travel deals that will make the travel a breeze and is a terrific low-price too – saving you money so there’s more to go around at the show.
This year the garden show is offering a special discount package for Canadian residents, so look for our ads in the Vancouver Sun (both online and print editions) starting January 17th. We have partnered with the Crowne Plaza Hotel for this discount, which is conveniently located only 2 blocks from the show.
Traveling by Amtrak is also a wonderful way to get to the show. You leave from the Vancouver Main Station, and the ride to Seattle takes a little over 4 hours. Amtrak offers a 10% discount off the best available rail fare to Seattle, WA between February 17 and February 27, 2013. You must use the Fare Code Number X25N-966. To book your reservation call 1-800-872-7245 or contact your local travel agent. (Note – these rates are not available online.)
If you want to travel in a group, we can accommodate groups as small as 10 all the way up to 100. Call 1-805-496-1251, or toll free 1-800-821-0339 to make reservations with Group Travel Associates. They will customize the perfect package for you and your group. And visit our website – we have some special packages for Canadians only!
To top it off – we give you FREE phytosanitary plant inspection, so your plant purchases will be approved to travel back home across the border with you. Look for it in booth #2622.
If you’re a Canadian resident and you’ve never been to the garden show, or have not come in a few years, this is the year to come! As the largest garden show west of the Mississippi, you will be amazed! And you won’t want to miss the two seminars by renowned Vancouver nursery owner Tom Hobbs, one of our 2013 Show Judges.
Oh, and one more thing — don’t forget your passport! – Janet
