22 May What to do Memorial Day Weekend
If you haven’t made plans this weekend for Memorial Day, why don’t you consider hitting the Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center? There will be massive food and craft vendors, shows that will interest all ages and of course, music. The schedule is chock-full and while you are there, take some pictures of the gardens at the Center and check out any plants that you haven’t seen before. See any new ones in the food court this year? Let me know, please.
At the Portland Japanese Garden, garden art is the focal point of the Artists Alliance Northwest Exhibition and Sale from May 24-June 1. Come see “Translations: Art Inspired by the Portland Japanese Garden”. Typical hours are Mondays 12-6pm and other days 10-6pm but on Memorial Day, hours have been extended to 10-7pm.
Pictures above show some of the art available by Monica Wheeler and Morely Knoll. You can meet these artists and the others at a reception on May 30 from 3-6pm.
