Company Description:
Growing Veterans is a veteran run non-profit farm network based in NW Washington.We offer 3 programs build to promote happy, healthy, communities. Our programs are focused on reducing the veteran mental health crisis through building culture of peer support.
Peer Support Training: Our accredited Peer Support Training program is offered both in-person & virtually is class sessions throughout the year. This program is is open to veterans and civilians, and is free to Washington residents through June, 2023 in thanks to special funding from the state of Washington.
Dirt Therapy: Volunteers at our two farms located in Whidbey Island & Whatcom County, WA are invited to experience our culture of peer support in action through our "dirt therapy" program where annually we grow and donate an average 3 tons of organic produce to local foodbanks.
Cultivator Program: New in 2023, our Cultivator Program provides a year long job training program for veterans looking to transition to a career in agriculture. This program is free to for veterans and can be completed with weekend availability.
