Author of The Less is More Garden: Big Ideas for Your Small Yard, to be released by Timber Press in February 2018. She is also co-author of the best-selling Garden Up! Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces (Cool Springs Press, 2011), California landscape designer and Susan Morrison is a nationally recognized authority on small-sized outdoor spaces. In addition to writing articles and presenting talks on the topic to garden enthusiasts all over the country, she has shared small-garden strategies on the ground-breaking PBS series “Growing a Greener World TV.” Susan’s designs have been featured in various publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Cottages and Bungalows and Fine Gardening, where she also contributes articles on design and plant selection. In 2015 during her two-year appointment as editor-in-chief of APLD’s The Designer, the digital magazine was awarded a Silver Award of Achievement from the Garden Writers Association. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley garden design extension program, Susan is a believer in life-long education and community service. Locally, she maintains an active volunteer status as a Master Gardener, and serves on the ReScape California Advisory Committee.

Drawing from identical plant materials, two of the SF Bay Area’s leading designers and authors (and best friends!) Susan Morrison and Rebecca Sweet will ‘compete’ as they each create 3 gorgeous containers—all in under an hour! Working against the clock, and with fun “challenges” thrown at them by Master of Ceremonies Marianne Binetti, see how they pull together plants and share their tips for designing luscious container gardens.
