Marty Wingate is a Seattle-based writer and speaker. She holds a master’s degree in urban horticulture from the University of Washington. Her garden books include Perennials for the Pacific Northwest: 500 Best Plants for Flower Gardeners (Sasquatch, 2014) and Landscaping for Privacy: Innovative Ways to Turn Your Outdoor Space into a Peaceful Retreat (Timber Press, 2011). Her articles appear in a variety of garden magazines. The Garden Plot, first in the Potting Shed mystery series, was released by Alibi – a new digital imprint from Random House – in May (2014) followed by The Red Book of Primrose House in November.
