Jodi Torpey is an award-winning vegetable gardener, master gardener, and founder and editor-in-chief of WesternGardeners.com. She’s the author of the new book, Blue Ribbon Vegetable Gardening (Storey Publishing, 2015) and The Colorado Gardener’s Companion (Globe Pequot Press 2007; 2015). Her garden writing appears on home and garden websites and in magazines, newspapers, and e-books. Jodi is a gardening instructor for an international audience through her Craftsy.com small-space vegetable gardening class, is a contributing editor for Fine Gardening Magazine’s VegetableGardener.com and is the Mountain Region garden blogger for Lowe’s. She’s also a popular speaker at conferences, garden shows and special gardening events around the country. Since 2010 she’s organized Denver’s annual Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign as a volunteer for the Garden Writers Association. Jodi also sponsors the annual Weird Veggie and Funny Fruit photo contest on her website in celebration of oddball eggplants, crazy carrots and tasteless tomatoes.
