Janit Calvo is the world-renown expert on miniature gardening and author of the two best-selling garden books on the hobby, Gardening in Miniature: Create Your Own Tiny Living World (Timber Press, 2013) and the new Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop: Handmade Accessories for Your Tiny Living World (Timber Press, 2017). Since 2001, Janit has been teaching and spreading the joy of gardening in miniature to enthusiasts from around the globe through her newsletter, The Mini Garden Gazette, and her websites and all major social media channels. Her blog, MiniGardenGuru.com, is the only regular blog for the miniature garden hobby. She is the founder of the Miniature Garden Society, a focused group of like-minded miniature gardeners from around the world. Janit has won many garden and miniature awards throughout the years from the Seattle Miniature Show and the Sorticulture Garden Art Show, including Best of Show and Most Original Display. She has demonstrated miniature gardening to thousands at the top garden shows throughout the country, as well as Epcot at Disney World. Her gardens have appeared in the Woman’s World Magazine, Birds and Bloom, Pacific Northwest Magazine, Country Living, Green Profit, Seattle Times, Dig Magazine, Dollhouse Miniature Magazine, HGTV and the Martha Stewart blog. Her work has also been featured in garden magazines in Romania, Japan, England, Finland and The Netherlands.
