Gina Thresher, AIFD, CFD

Owner and designer, From the Ground Up Floral

Gina Thresher, AIFD, CFD, owns and operates From Ground Up Floral in Kent, WA. She is a floral designer specializing in many design styles with a broad range of floristry education. Nationally accredited through the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD), she is currently the social media manager for the NW Chapter of AIFD. She is a proud member of the prestigious Chapel Designers, a group of wedding and event specialists, and is presently studying for her European Master Certificate in floral design. She considers herself to “have a floral problem” as she absolutely adores designing with flowers and sharing her passion digitally and in person with flower enthusiasts. Gina has been published in print and in numerous wedding and design blogs. Education and forward thinking in the floral industry was her main motivation for recently launching “From the Ground Up” podcast geared towards floral creativity and design. Gina was a selected designer at the Ninth Moon Festival in Oregon, where demonstrated how to make floral crowns. She volunteers for AIFD and took a large part in AIFD’s International Symposium, held in Seattle in July, 2017. She is also a co-chair of the “Blooms Over” project which distributes hundreds of arrangements and designs to nursing homes, hospitals and shelters to bring goodwill to people needing some cheer. Flowers make people smile, and Gina loves being a part of that.
