Gardening 101 – Indispensible Plants

Gardening 101 – Indispensible Plants

Not a cure for plant lust

What do you get when you ask three leading ‘plant people’ to pare down their list of favorite plants for a 30-minute seminar at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show? You get a list of must have plants – the truly indispensible, cream of the crop, gotta have them plants perfect for Northwest Gardens.

In one of our new 90-minute “Gardening 101” seminars, author and columnist Val Easton, Far Reaches Farm nursery owners Kelly Dodson and Sue Milliken, and garden designer Nita-Jo Rountree give us their top lists, in bulbs, perennials and annuals, respectively. Just what you need for an incredible year-round garden filled with fabulous flowers and foliage.

This is going to be a great seminar and perfect for the “gardening grewbie.” Discover more great seminars on our website. ~ Janet

I would love to know the correct bulbs, perennials and annuals to plant. I am relocating to Puyallup, WA from red clay hard packed earth Columbus, GA. I cannot attend as I am far away, however, I do want to know if there are resources for me to learn prior to relocating. Any information would be most helpful. Thank you.

Melinda – Many of our speakers provide handouts to the audience to supplement their seminars. The garden show posts those handouts on the seminar schedule the week after the show, so check back after about February 28. Also, I recommend that you look through the books featured on the book signing page of our website. That’s a great list of titles to add to your library!
