NWFGS Set Up 2013

Set up of Northwest Flower & Garden Show 2013

Being new to the NWFGS team, I wasn’t sure what to expect at an end of summer meeting. Thinking how the show is so far off in February, I wasn’t sure what we would be discussing or if there was much news.  Rest assured show fans, some serious groundwork has been laid to make sure the 2014 Northwest Flower  Garden Show ‘Art In Bloom” is the best one yet.

Our team has worked hard this summer to make sure your experience at the show is an amazing one.  We looked at floor maps for the show and worked together to see that vendors, gardens, refreshments and fun were all where you need them.  The seminars schedule is coming along nicely and should be nailed down quite soon. There will be some Garden to Table seminars that we know you will love.  Display Garden areas have been established as well as placed for good foot traffic flow. Ticket prices are being set up and we are gearing up to get those on sale by November.

All in all, a great meeting to see that it takes an army to get this show off the ground.  Everyone works hard to make sure your time at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show is a good one.

The thing that is missing is more seating where one can stop to have a beer or wine. There are so many people that
need a place to sit and just watch. Its an amazing show ,but for the large number of people it seems the ratio for serving adult beverages is a little too low.It is a wonderful show all in all.

Thank you for your feedback Marlene. State Law now requires that in private buildings alcohol be contained and that is why we have it in such a small space. Without jeopardizing the gardens and the booths in the show, this is the largest area that we can have at the present time. I’m going to share this with the show planners and hopefully have more seats to sit back, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the show.
