PlayGarden

How many times have you told your kids “don’t touch!” in a public place? Those rules don’t apply at The PlayGarden. This new interactive activity area is specifically designated for children and their parents.

This is a garden just for kids–and its focus is strictly “hands on!”

The classic song “Rockin’ Robin” is spotlighted through The PlayGarden’s visuals and activities in celebration of the show’s overall theme for 2012: “A Floral Symphony.” (Children 11 and under are admitted free to the show and The PlayGarden is free to all.)

The show, in collaboration with the Seattle Children’s PlayGarden, will give children the opportunity to experience many great hand’s on activities.

Around-the-clock activities for children include a series of fun musical entertainers every show day on the Sprout Stage, including ”Caspar Babypants”, Nancy Stewart, “Your Imaginary Friends” Jana Vitols & Greg Ruby and Lisa Taylor with the “Creepin’ Critters.”

The exhibit will provide parents and kids a chance to learn together about gardening, nature and birds. Parents will leave the show with practical knowledge on how to involve their children in projects that will inspire them about nature.

Just like all our features at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show, everyone is welcome!

Below are some pictures from the 2011 PlayGarden which featured a “Charlotte’s Web” from the beloved classic book.
