Columnist and best-selling author, Teaming with Microbes and Teaming with Fungi

Jeff Lowenfels is the longest running garden columnist in North America, a noted author, a huge proponent of organics and the most entertaining horticultural speaker on the circuit, without a question. He is also the author of two award-winning, best-selling books on organic growing, farming and gardening. Teaming With Microbes: The Organic Gardener’s Guide to the Soil Food Web, (Timber Press, rev. 2010) was reviewed as “the most important new gardening book in 25 years” and won a Gold Award for best writing from the GWA. It has been translated into 7 languages and is now a standard text in freshman Ag courses. Jeff’s second book, Teaming with Nutrients: The Organic Gardener’s Guide to Optimizing Plant Nutrition (Timber Press, 2013) took the nutrients delivered by the soil food web, into the plant, literally. It’s an eye opening journey most growers have never taken, full of useful information on being a better grower. A third book, Teaming With Fungi: The Organic Gardener’s Guide to Mycorrhizae was just released by Timber Press in January. Jeff’s writing has earning Jeff the moniker “Lord of the Roots.” For decades Jeff has been bringing his humor and passionate evangelism for the unseen world of the soil food web to audiences around the world. His entertaining talks have a special way of educating audiences and as a result he has converted tens of thousands of growers, gardeners and farmers to the organic way.
