This is a totally spontaneous and ad-libbed conversation hosted by Lorene Edwards Forkner, popular lecturer and author of Growing Your Own Vegetables, along with guest stars Joe Lamp’l, host of “Growing a Greener World;” Graham Kerr, the Emmy Award nominated TV personality formerly known as “Galloping Gourmet;” Willi Evans Galloway, creator of DigginFood.com; and Teresa O’Connor, co-author of Grocery Gardening: Planting, Preparing & Preserving Fresh Food. Freelance writer, visiting lecturer and sometimes garden designer, Lorene Edwards Forkner revels in the seasonal pleasures and broad scope of gardening life in the Pacific Northwest affords. A designer’s eye for re-purposing objects and a keen sense of conservation and thrift infuse her every effort with personality, wit and sustainability. Lorene is the author of 3 books: Growing Your Own Vegetables, 2009; Canning & Preserving Your Own Harvest, summer 2009 – single subject titles which were drawn from material original to The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery; and Hortus Miscellaneous, 2007; all from Sasquatch Books. Joe is host of the popular series, Fresh from the Garden on DIY Network and GardenSMART on PBS. As one of the country’s most recognized and trusted personalities in gardening and sustainability, today, he combines his national television experience and expertise of gardening, environmental stewardship and passion for living a more eco-friendly life, as host and producer of Growing a Greener World on public television. Graham Kerr – Author, TV Star & former ‘Galloping Gourmet’
Graham Kerr is an internationally known culinary and television personality. He has aired over 1,800 programs with broadcasts in the US, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Asia, Africa, the United Kingdom and Europe. One of his first shows, ‘The Galloping Gourmet,’ brought the art of creative cooking alive to countless television audiences from 1969 – 1971 and made Graham Kerr a household name. He has written over 25 books, with 14 million copies sold. His latest book, Growing at the Speed of Life, will be published in 2011 by Penguin Corp. He has received many awards, including the Julia Child Cookbook Award, the James Beard Award, two Emmy nominations for most outstanding daytime programming and induction into the American Culinary Hall of Fame.

Willi Galloway is an award-winning writer and radio commentator and the creator of DigginFood, a popular gardening and cooking blog that serves up organic vegetable gardening advice, DIY projects, and seasonal recipes several times each week. Each Tuesday morning, Willi offers vegetable gardening advice (along with fellow gardeners Marty Wingate and Greg Rabourn) on the popular KUOW 94.9 call-in show, Greendays. She is at work on her first book—a food lover’s guide to vegetable gardening that will be published Sasquatch Books in January 2012. This past summer she filmed ‘Grow. Cook. Teresa O’Connor – Blogger & co-author, Grocery Gardening
Teresa O’Connor is the co-author of the book, Grocery Gardening: Planting, Preparing and Preserving Fresh Food (Cool Springs Press, 2010). Over the years, her gardens have ranged from a renovated New England barnyard to a Mediterranean garden in coastal California. She now lives near the foothills of Boise, Idaho. Trained as a Master Gardener in California and Idaho, Teresa is a frequent contributor to the National Home Gardening Club, as well as Gardening How-To Magazine and Coastal Home Magazine, among others.
