CHILDREN'S GARDENS

Even the tiniest children's gardens in the Show attract a huge audience! Kids from all around the Puget Sound region can get involved in gardening by creating these small container gardens. By working on a garden, teachers find their students acquire hands-on experience in horticulture and design, using plants and their imagination. It also offers teachers an opportunity to convey principles of biology in a fun way. Every childs garden gets a certificate and prizes are awarded. The Show generously provides free admission to students if they participate. The Show provides at no charge the containers, which are plastic propagation flats, 14 inches deep by 18 inches wide by 3 inches high. The Garden Show does not provide the seeds or plants and each garden must contain some live plants. For information about participating, email infotac@otshows.com. Include your grade, school and its location.
