Composting for Apartment Dwellers. Bradner Gardens Park, Feb 11, 2009 07:00 PM. Learn how to compost those banana peels rather than throwing them in the trash.

City Chicks ~ Starting with Baby Chicks. Good Shepherd Center Room 140 (Senior Center), Feb 21, 2009 10:00 AM. Seattle Tilth’s own Paul Farley will help remove all doubt about starting with chicks. This class will teach you how to raise chicks to be healthy, happy and productive egg laying hens.

Comprehensive Organic Gardener Program. Good Shepherd Center Room 202, Feb 26, 2009 – Mar 19, 2009. An intensive multi-session program teaching organic vegetable gardening methods and practice.

Indoor Plant Sale , January 9 – 19 and Molbak’s Vacation Giveaway Contest. Enter To Win a $1,500 Gift Certificate. Need a vacation? Stop by Molbak’s indoor plant information booth from January 9-17. Hard-To-Kill Houseplants.  Are you unlucky with indoor plants?  Do they all seem to die no matter what you do?  Maybe the problem isn’t you but the plants you are choosing.  Join Betty and Theda, Molbak’s Indoor Plant Specialists, as they cover the basics of choosing and caring for low-maintenance plants.

Saturday, January 31st. Sessions 9:30am – 11:00am – 12:30pm. KIDS DAY:  Create Your Own Terrarium!  On-line Registration  Fee:  $10.00 each Kids ages 6+ with parent. Limited seats per session. Create your own terrarium with expert guidance from Kids’ instructors, Ms. Theda and Ms. Cheryl. They’ll explain how plants grow, how to care for them, and why watering is so important. All supplies included.
