01 Jul And the 2015 Theme is…
Each year, the Northwest Flower & Garden Show brings attendees hundreds of new ideas, creativity, and resources. We are always brainstorming new content for you. In order to encourage more blending of realism and floral fantasy, a theme is chosen every year. The Show garden creators are highly encouraged to interpret and follow the theme in their own unique ways.
Since 2011, there have been four distinct themes at the Show.
It started with “Once Upon a Time… Spectacular Gardens with Stories to Tell.” Literary inspirations for a few Display Gardens sparked from Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel, and Henry David Thoreau.
The Show filled with harps, drumsets, pianos, and plenty of live music for a “Floral Symphony, Gardens Take Note.” in 2012. Some garden creators designed for specific music styles, while others relied on the art of composition and the soothing sounds of nature.
We had Hollywood here for the Show’s 25th silver anniversary “The Silver Screen takes root… Gardens go Hollywood.” Classics like “Star Wars” to Audrey Hepburn’s “Roman Holiday”, “Alien” to “Jurassic Park” appeared that year. There was something for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s theme was “Art in Bloom.” Glass blowing, art studios, fine art pieces, video games, and actual local artists all played a part in contributing to the theme. Gardening is an art form anyway, right?
In preparation of the 2015 Northwest Flower & Garden Show, the secret we’ve been waiting to spill is here. We think you’re going to love the theme next year. It is “Romance Blossoms” after all!
